poltergeists are dangerous.. its actually a type of haunting. not so much a thing. a person can get them when they are going through a rough patch in their life, that weakness lets a spirit come in and pick on them. they are dangerous because poltergeists are they type of haunting where objects can be picked up and thrown. you can get really hurt.

the only real way to get rid of one is to reclaim your house, only the owners of the house have the control to do that.

A poltergeist is a fast moving human spirit which makes its presence known by noises, rappings, breaking and moving things. Sometimes they can stay for years. It's not so much how people get them. I think they they are attached as it were to a particular place or building, not to people. I do not think they they are dangerous; more of a nuisance but very annoying all the same.

Poltergeist (from German poltern and Geist, "noisy ghost", "spirit", or "embodiment") denotes a spirit or ghost that manifests itself by moving and influencing objects. Poltergeist activity tends to occur around a single person called an agent or a focus. Foci are often, but not limited to, pubescent children.

Another version posits that poltergeists originate after a person dies in a powerful rage at the time of death. According to yet another opinion, ghosts and poltergeists are "recordings." When there is a powerful emotion, sometimes at death and sometimes not, a recording is believed to be "embedded" in a place or, somehow, in the "fabric of time" itself.

This recording will continue to play over and over again until the energy embedded disperses. However some poltergeists have had the ability to articulate themselves and to have distinct personalities, which suggests some sort of self-awareness and intent. Practitioners of astral projection have reported the existence of unfriendly astral life forms.

    Probably not real

The word comes from the German, roughly translating as "knocking spirit".

A supernatural phenomenon which manifests itself as a force that moves objects around, sometimes in a destructive manner. While some theories identify the poltergeist as a ghost, others say that it is the unconscious use of psychokinetic powers by a resident of the afflicted house, often an adolescent. (Poltergeists do seem to frequently pop up in houses where a teenager or a child nearing puberty lives.)

How do they get here well they come from that paranormal zone that someone opens when they play with supernatural stuff that should totally be left alone.. And what is really strange to me is that people that open these portals have no idea of the damag that they are causing in this world.......... But these people are the same people that state these very things don't exist..... and there are paranormal researcher out there like myself that have to fight these spirits and demons on a daily basis, That go thru a living hell trying to banish these creatures back into the paranormal zone..........

Poltergeists sometimes are thought of as "noisy ghosts" that cause things to move, sometimes even violently. But others believe that poltergeists are not ghosts, but caused by the mind of the person who is a psychic. Their psychic energy is so strong that they can kinetically move objects, and usually when it becomes violent it is because of some trauma that's been done.

People don't "get" poltergeists. They are either present or they are not. Ghosts in general are going to be present in a place because they still have some kind of attachment. They aren't ready to leave a place after death. They may have unfinished business, and when such things occur, they are only letting the living know that they consider "this place still theres." Some ghosts are benevelant and would not harm anyone while there are others that try to harm because when they died, they might have also died violently, and their spirit becomes bound to this place and seeks revenge for their death. They may not even know that they have died.

To rid one of such a ghost isn't easy, but it can be done. Saying a prayer for the person's soul helps to let them know that they need to pass on to the next life. In order to do that, you need to know who lived in the home before you and how they died. They just need to be told that it is time to move on. You might light a candle, proclaiming the person's name, and saying, "It is time you move on. There is nothing in this world for you. You are forgiven. Your loved ones are waiting to greet you. It is time to rest."
