Well I once did a paper on the sacred animals of ancient Egypt. You know their relation to god/gods, and their purpose etc.

One of the most well-known Egyptian myths is that of Osiris, who became the God of the Dead.

Osiris was a king who was killed by his brother Seth, who wanted the throne for himself. Seth tricked Osiris into climbing into a coffin, which he then closed, packed with lead, and threw into the Nile. Osiris' wife, Isis, searched for Osiris and found his body - still in the coffin - embedded in a tree trunk that was holding up the roof of a palace in Byblos. She removed Osiris' body and brought him back to life with spells, in order that he could get her pregnant with an heir. After she conceived however, Osiris died again. This time, she hid his body in the desert. Nine months later, she gave birth to Horus, and had to concentrate on raising him.

When Isis was away raising Horus, Seth went hunting in the desert and found the hidden body of Osiris. In order to make sure he couldn't be brought back to life again, he tore the body to pieces and spread them throughout Egypt. Isis went searching for the pieces, and eventually gathered all except the penis, which had been eaten by a fish. She bandaged her husband's body back together and gave him a proper burial. The Gods were impressed by Isis' devotion, and raised Osiris to become the God of the Underworld. She later became the goddess of motherhood and family.

Horus, the son of Osiris and Isis, became the God of the Sky and the Sun, and later fought with Seth, who was the evil God of the desert. He won, but lost an eye in the conflict.

More of the major Gods for you:

Ra (Sun God), Hathor (Goddess of motherhood, love and music), Anubis (God of embalming, and watched over the dead), Bastet (Cat Goddess, protector of the Pharaoh), Bes (God of the household), Geb (God of the Earth), Nut (Goddess of the sky), Thoth (God of wisdom and writing), Ptah (God of crafts)
